*Minor spoilers for the book, "Back to the Future II", and "Doctor Who"*As of the last book, Colin and the gang really stepped in it. It being a ticket to a destination they know next to nothing about, but given how tensions escalated in Flatland, I cannot blame them for taking their chances with a "brave new world." Something that is you have almost certainly figured out from my review title, and the works I listed as having minor spoilers for, is that this book involves time travel. The exact mechanism driving it is not understood by the characters (there is no Delorean or TARDIS to been seen, but they are referenced), but the trigger for it is one they take to heart. The frustrations that some readers will have with a time travel story are even lampshaded by Colin, he understands that if he can abuse it, than there is no real risk to the story. Fortunately, this is not something you have to worry about in this book, as there is still the threat of "death on a daily basis." During these trials, you will see some character growth, largely in Claire and Jenny, as Colin is still wondering how he and his friends manage to stay alive with all the insane shenanigans that plague them. Not to say that Colin's other friends (whether he likes it or not) do not show up, but it is Claire's and Jenny's turn to steal some of the spotlight from Colin. Hopefully you will have as much fun as I did seeing the party muddle through the messes they face as best they can!
(Quick notes for the author: There were a few instance where "Claire" was spelled as "Caire." Also, as an avid watcher of "Doctor Who," I can tell you that the character, "the Doctor," cannot travel back within his own timeline with a goal of fixing something that went wrong. If it happens during the course of events after the time travel occurred, that works, but trying to fix something in the past on purpose can break the universe. "Back to the Future II" would have been a better reference than where "Doctor Who" currently is, as the characters do jump around the timeline with the specific intent of fixing things. I guess you could blame Colin for not being as big a sci-fi nerd as the rest of us?)

Another great adventure in moodys great world. I can not wait for the next book. The story thrilling, characters great, action scene bloody.
good read i cannot wait for the next one this is a good series
Ok so the book was a great addition to the series and like all the others it leaves you wanting more, but that ending just made the futures fanboy in me scream Death by Snu Snu
Longest one yet and I enjoyed it again. Got a little tired toward the last 30 percent but I wasn't giving up. This book stays with the dark humor and wit, finishes up well and anyone thinking bout buying it just go ahead and do it.
This, in my opinion, is the worst in the series. I've read everything this author has available to date and I really like Moody's style.
What I did not like was this stories feel. It is at odds with the previous book. The protagonist is a dick but changing in some odd ways. The ending left me wanting, but feels like Moody needed a setup for the next in the series. Overall this one was okay, because it likely was leading to the next book. If not than it deserves 1 star less.
Colin and Co. find themselves in yet another fine mess, as they are transported to the Underworld they have been warned about.
I found this volume a little less enjoyable than the others because it was more philosophical and not as adventuresome, but it still kept me highly entertained.
Alas, I have come to the end of available adventures for our stalwart heroes, but I look forward to the next book's release. )
The author has really his stride in book 5 of this series, which was a real pleasure to read. The story itself was a great adventure, and the main and supporting characters are nicely fleshed out at this point. The main characters dialogue and internal monologue are interesting and funny. I'm not sure if I highlighted much in my for the first three books, but I highlighted around a dozen in this one. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next ones in the series.
